The Premium Long life Mud Pump Piston

Urethane-bonded pistons

Our urethane-bonded pistons are produced using a well-researched urethane compound that has good mechanical properties and outstanding resistance to tearing, abrasion, and extrusion. This piston's bonded design gives it the strength to withstand drilling pressures of up to 7,500 psi (51.7 MPa) and the ability to withstand wear and tear over thousands of operating cycles. Our piston's core is made of a high quality alloy steel that is stronger and more resistant to chemicals than other materials used in this industry. Our typical bonded-polyurethane piston can operate up to 200 °F, which is the maximum operating temperature. Operating pressures for these standard pistons are up to 7,500 psi (51.7 MPa).

    High Temperature Urethane Bonded Pistons

Our high temperature urethane bonded mud pump pistons increase drilling penetration rates, enhance process control, and improve drilling contractor economics. In addition to increased temperature, abrasion, and particle embedment resistance, this cutting-edge, proprietary chemical formula also offers increased resistance to water, oil, and synthetic drilling fluids. The cutting-edge polymer compound gives drilling fluids made of water, synthetic, and oil the strength to resist chemical attack from additives. Additionally, the compound exhibits superior abrasion resistance against drilling solids suspended in drilling muds and demonstrates exceptional high temperature performance, with the ability to function in fluid temperatures as high as 300°F. We can keep an eye on the piston body by engraving the manufacturer's date on every product thanks to our enhanced process control. Steel piston heads machined by Grandtech produce tight tolerances for enhanced performance.

    Rubber Bonded Pistons

For water-based drilling fluids, we combine the advantages of our bonded-piston design with an elastomer compound based on nitrile. Although urethane pistons work well with oil-based and synthetic fluids, they can also be utilized with water-based muds. Nitrile-rubber compound is the best option for water-based drilling fluids. The strongest and most extrusion-resistant type of piston is produced by bonding the rubber to the metal hub, which also reduces the possibility of leak paths developing on the inner diameter of the piston. Because of the bonded-lip design's open inner sealing lip, the rubber can expand inward due to thermal expansion without overly stressing the sealing lip. At temperatures as high as 250°F (121°C), the bonded-nitrile piston can be used effectively with the right cooling and lubrication provided by the liner-wash system.

    Replaceable Rubber Pistons

Nitrile rubber is used in the construction of our replaceable rubber piston to withstand abrasion and extrusion. Because of its sturdy construction, it can withstand operating pressures of up to 7500 PSI. Its two-piece design enables rubber replacement at lower operating pressures. The replaceable rubber piston can operate in clear water up to heavy weight drilling mud in a very broad range of drilling conditions. With the majority of other manufacturers' products, these pistons are completely interchangeable. Sizes 3" through 7-1/2" are available.
